What Frank Dohms doesn't like about Ferraro's Bar E Ristorante:
The food was amazing down to the last bite. The service was horrible. We were totally neglected. Our waiter never even stopped by our table after our entrees. He stood two tables over for over 5 minutes just chating. We finally flagged down some other staff to bring some cheese for the pasta. He introduced the menu. Took our order and brought us the bill. Came for dinner following 30th wedding vow renewal on the beach…disappointing to say the least. Server was scattered and disorganized from start to finish. Following our entree, she brought out our wedding cake and dropped it on the table in front of us. No plates. No cutlery. No cutting knife and just walked away. We kept expecting her to return so we drank our coffee and no we watched her chat with a single diner for a long amusing chat -not giving service-just chatting. Still no plates or cutlery…nothing. My husband finally got up from the table after waiting 30 minutes and asked another server to find her as we just wanted to leave at that point…she arrived about 5 minutes later and picked up our wedding cake and returned later with our bill. Sea bass was over cooked, pork chop okay. We had gone to Spagos 3 nights earlier for my husband’s birthday celebration which was fantastic in every way…and we were made to feel special the entire evening, server took photos of us and manager came over to give birthday wishes and knew about our upcoming wedding anniversary celebration and offered congratulations and well wishes. Our anniversary celebration dinner at Ferraro’s could not have been more disappointing in almost every way and pretty much spoiled our celebration. Cake done by Cake Fanatics…it was the highlight of the evening even though it was never served and just sat on the table in front of us looking beautiful. Flowers by Bella Bloom-we highly recommend for gorgeous wedding flowers. Ferraro’s for dinner and a special evening…not so much!
We went for dinner but couldn’t see the ocean as it was too dark. Food was good, tried their Tiramisu
The food is top notch, however, the service is sub par and the restaurant has no air conditioning or fans, which makes it extremely uncomfortable to eat at until after sunset.
Ferraro's was the highlight of our trip to Maui. We enjoyed some amazing food, in a wonderful setting in two separate lunch visits. Our waiter, Jack (i.e., John), was the best! He gets 100 points for his recommendations, providing excellent service, being attentive, and also great fun. Thank you! We will certainly be back!
A total disappointment. We dined for sunset dinner and loved the view but that was about it. Very let down by the quality of both the food and service. Especially for the Four Seasons. Food selection was minimal and the dishes we ordered were not flavorful in any manner. Our server was disengaged and rushed us despite our attempts to try and relax and enjoy the moment. She kept pushing us to order and seemed to not care when we explained that we were not happy with the food. So flavorless dishes (risotto, veal, hamachi crudo, okra... and rushed unconcerned service made for a disappointing experience. Not what we expected from the Four Seasons. There are a lot of other great restaurants here on Maui to enjoy. I'd skip this one....
