Contribute FeedbackThe Stemwinder at Kimberley Alpine Resort offers delicious and high-quality food, with a ski culture feel and a diverse menu including pub favorites. While the service can be inconsistent and slow during peak times, the overall experience is positive. The staff are friendly, accommodating, and provide discounts for long waits. The restaurant is family-friendly and offers indoor and outdoor seating, with live music and a relaxing atmosphere. The food is well-liked, with generous portions. Stemwinder caters events with great success, praised for their vegetarian lasagna and variety of options. Overall, it's a recommended spot for a satisfying meal after outdoor activities.
The Stemwinder has great food. The service is really hit and miss but even when the servers are friendly you need at least an hour for lunch more if it is busy. The food is good quality tho.
My friends and I waited half an hour for the server to take our order then it took another hour and a half for us to get our food. The server didn't refill our drinks once throughout the entire two hours (even after she walked past us several times). I ordered a skillet without mushrooms and they ended up bringing it with mushrooms and no meat (which the skillet comes with) and no hashbrowns which were suppose to be included. I asked for it to be sent back and then we waited another 30 minutes for them to come tell us it was just starting to be made. The food is below average and the service here is awful. I love Kimberly and the mountain but don't waste your time eating here.
Every day for lunch there is some soup and sandwich combo which is good for a moderate fill up in between runs. The beverage selection is adequate, but it is odd they don't have Kokanee Gold, just regular Kokanee. It can get really busy at times and challenging to get timely service, especially mid week, but overall, not a bad spot on the hill.
.... but you have to have some time when it is full between christmas and new years. Went there twice for lunch. The service is friendly and gave us a dicount after we had to wait 1 1/2h. The meals are plenty, tast good and give you energie for another few runs. Always good for warm and boozy drinks or just a beer.
The first day we arrived was one of the best and busiest days on the hill. Beautiful snow fell the night before, the weather was mild and the hill was crazy. As was the restaurant. Our bill arrived before the food that took 2 hours. Not good when you are burning to go back tot the hill. But we went again the next day. And the day after that. The fever was over and less than half the people of the previous day, was on the hill resulting in a civilized state in the restaurant. It is a cozy, welcoming bar with really friendly service staff. Good food and great pitchers of beer. But not cheap. I get that on the hill ( so to speak - it is not one of those eateries where they have to run the food up hill in snowmobiles), things are more expensive, but charging $17 for 10 wings ( of which only 8 arrived on the crazy day) is steep. Really steep.
