"First visit to this place last night with my brother, its a little gem, tentative staff, freindly and polite but best of all the food was totally delicious, no long wait time for food a relaxed atmosphere and reasonable prices, also very clean with upstairs kitchen on show, always a good sign."

"Sorry Cafe Velo. I say sorry because we are regular customers. The last visit on a Saturday morning just before lunch we thought the Cafe Gloomy and quiet. The full English was ok but not exceptional. The service was ok but normally there's a nice vibe even if your not a cyclist. On a previous visit we commented on the table being sticky. We were informed it was the type of varnish on the table. on this occasion the tables are still sticky. not nice and needs addressing."

"This place is fabulous. The staff can't be more welcoming and friendly. Very happy to please. Such nice surroundings too. The food was so lovely. The old lamp room is the place to go!! Kasha, you're great. Nothing was too much trouble. We had the best time. Thank you. "The food was tasty. The waitress unfriendly, unwelcoming and had very little table etiquette and for this reason I will not be returning. Her demeanor was as if she could not be bothered to serve us. Due to severe health problems this was supposed to be a rare treat for me. Very disappointed."

"Always a friendly welcome and freshly cooked simple and delicious food (hot and crispy chips a speciality) and tea from a pot. Interesting Hull thematized memory of the walls. This is really a place for local people, but I recommend all visitors Hull who want to avoid the chains and support genuine Hull food to make coffee 31 for lunch or tea and a cake (the coffee is Lavazza the best from Turin)."

"We called in after a long journey with little time to spare and the service and welcome were amazing. We were served very quickly with very tasty, fresh fish and chips which were absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend on all counts."

"I just wanted to say thank you for everything you do, the amazing food and always helpful staff that are polite and nothing is always too much. My daughter is autistic and finds it difficult to go to restaurants, but on her 18th and today on her 21st she decided to dine with family in her favorite restaurant. They make their feeling so comfortable and welcome and also our party had a 6 months old and I was a wheelchair user. Again, nothing too much trouble, excellent service, easily accessible to me and had an absolutely fabulous evening. Let the food die. I can't thank you enough or rate thanks."
