"Such a lovely place. We went here on a whim and were so pleasantly surprised by how nice it was! Try the chef surprise me platter we loved it so much we ordered 2 and both were different each time. A perfect way to try new flavours, and it 's affordable too! Dietary restrictions: They were so good about my allergies there was absolutely no issue catering for them. They have gluten free options, vegetarian and vegan options on the menu as well. "We had a pretty terrible meal here. The deep fried starters were okay, as was the salad, but anything made ‘fresh’ was a mistake. Bread rolls burnt on top and not cooked in the middle, soup was brown water, Sunday lunch offered a dry crumbly...meat with a mix of completely uncooked veg and total mush that slid through the prongs of the fork. We ordered some side dishes and puddings that never came at all and we had to ask to have them taken off the bill at the end. No one asked if our food was okay, so presumably the staff know it isn’t. It was a special occasion, but they were late showing us to our table and then rushed us at the end of the meal because they had mistimed it for the next booking. I think it would have been hard for them to make it any less ‘special’. The play area is dangerous, with rotten wood and broken play equipment. I can see they’re very busy at the moment, but getting a carpenter in to fix things up needs to be a priority. It’s not safe. It’s such a nice building and location, it was a real shame about the food and the maintenance of the garden. If you visit, stick to drinks and maybe a plate of chips. I don’t understand where the good reviews have come from."

"Overall, I was very disappointed by The Bunk. Small things, but slightly corrected things... Covid makes life harder, I accept that, but you don't have to wait for age and age until someone takes a drink order when you've put yourself at your table. You should also not have to wait until you give up a food order. And if you want to turn off the kitchen at a certain time, tell your customers in advance when it comes to closing, and ask them if they want to preorder a pudding. Don't wait until they finish their main course, and then just tell them when they see the pudding menu that they can't see it because the kitchen is closed and that they won't be able to order one. Why? Because it is really annoying, they, and leads them to write reviews say everyone how obnoxious you are, and how you would never eat again there, nor would you recommend eating someone else there because their service and respect for their customers is garbage!"
