What User likes about Waikomo Shave Ice:
The first time I tried shaver ice cream and chose this place based on other reviews. My daughter got Raspberry/Blood Orange and it was good. I chose Guava/Passion Fruit flavors and they were both very strange tasting. Maybe because most of the Guava and passion fruit flavors we are used are fake and these flavors were real. During a recent trip to Kauai we tried several shave ice vendors. Waikomo unfortunately did not stand out. Smoothness is crucial to a good shave ice, and theirs was not super smooth. Their flavors taste great, mainly because they are all natural syrups. But these types of syrups tend to lay on top of the ice rather than soak through, leaving the entire dessert watered down. "Let me start off by saying that the hype for these acai bowls are no joke! The acai bowls are fire . They were far different from the usual toppings and acai mix that we were accustomed to . All that can be said is that they were delicious.This place is busy so I can understand other yelpers being upset about the wait time. I too am one of those who waited 10 minutes before being helped. What was amazing was not even a hello we'll be right with you or a thank you for waiting what will you have. A little acknowledgement goes a long way in the customer service industry, hence the deduction of 1 star.Once helped the girls working behind the counter rocked it and whipped up our two bowls in no time and boy were they delicious.Chloe was amazing.
