The food and drinks were fantastic! However, like many places around here, their soy sauce contains gluten. I'm definitely coming back; there are so many more items on the menu that I want to try! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Palau Umi Korean And Japanese Cuisine:
The Wednesday lunch buffet is decent for $15, but they occasionally run out of shrimp tempura. The à la carte options are quite good, featuring a blend of Japanese and Korean dishes. However, the staff could improve their efficiency, as they do not clean the tables promptly. View all feedback.
Palau can feel quite bleak if you're staying for an extended period of time, but my spirits were always lifted by my visits to Umi. Janet, Jen, and Mary Ann, in particular, made my time there so much better, as I found myself dining at Umi three to four times a week. They consistently offered excellent service, complete with smiles and captivating stories about Palau. The food is the best you’ll find on the island, and the bento boxes, in particular, offer incredible value, available for takeout or complimentary delivery. It’s not often you can say this in the “Pristine Paradise,” but you can drink the water at Umi, and they always seem to have a plentiful supply of fresh vegetables. A word of advice: they close for lunch at 2:00 PM, so if you're like me and tend to have late lunches, they will politely and cheerfully encourage you to wrap things up. Thank you, Mary Ann and the team, for the wonderful food, exceptional service, and unforgettable memories!
Choosing a restaurant in Koror can be a challenge due to the many available options. However, Umi Restaurant stands out as one of the top choices, offering a diverse selection of Korean and Japanese dishes to please any palate. The prices are quite reasonable, and they even provide a complimentary shuttle service. It's an offer that's hard to pass up!
The owner will even take you back to your villa, which is a nice touch. The T-bone steak is absolutely incredible—the size is astonishing and it completely filled the plate. The speed of service was impressive, and the staff were very friendly. While there was no Wi-Fi available, our waitress kindly ran across the street to get a Wi-Fi credit card so we could use the hotspot. We found the prices to be reasonable and felt we got great value for the money.
