What Kenyatta Collins likes about Gasthof Silbergasser Thomas e. U.:
I was in St. Johann Im Pongau on vacation, I wanted traditional Austrian food and found this place near my hotel. I ordered the Wienerschnitzel with potatoes and hands down the best, I mean the number one salad I have ever eaten. I asked my...waiter what it was called so I could order it again when I came back. I had a table outdoor, so I sat there enjoyed my Austria meal, my glass of reslin wine and felt truly bless... View all feedback.

What Abbie Palmer doesn't like about Gasthof Silbergasser Thomas e. U.:
Gasthof Silbergasse is a nice restaurant very convenient to central St. Johann Im Pongau. We went there for lunch and dinner. The portions are huge; we should have spilt a plate to save room for desert. The cheese plate may be shared as an appetizer;...or may be one’s main dish. The menu has many selections of primarily Austrian dishes. The wait staff is friendly and accommodating. The food was good, average for this... View all feedback.

"The cafe is located at the north side of Bad Hofgastein where the location can be also reached by walking upto the hill. There is an amazing view where you can also get a little bit warm with sunbathing. The menu includes local desert tastes and typical coffee selections. I recommend to the couples without children for a silent break."

"After many days of eating typical meaty Austrian food, it was great that we were able to find this friendly authentic scrumptious Chinese restaurant. Our whole family enjoyed every dish that we ordered upon the recommendation of the chef – we described our taste preferences and she created the perfect dinner for us. We felt like we were home. Even the white rice was so tasty that my 9 year old daughter picked out every last grain in the bowl! Wonderful family restaurant and look forward to coming back again!"

"We went to the Steakhaus Rauchkuchl based on previous reviews. We were staying just up the hill so it was only a two minute walk from the hotel. There is no doubt about the theme of this restaurant as once you've entered it's like an all American rodeo show! We arrived around 8.30pm on the Saturday night and were surprised that there were only a few tables occupied. We sat in the smaller non-smoking section but could've sat on the adjoining outside terrace if we so wished. We were given a nice, courteous welcome by the waiter. The menu has a decent selection so it's ok for someone who prefers something other than beef!We ordered a camembert starter to share. It came with some lovely lightly toasted baguette style bread and is definitely worth a go. For the main meal my wife ordered a Steaktoast - lots of small steak pieces covering a lightly toasted slice of bread. Not keen on garlic sauce she asked to swap for the cocktail sauce which the waiter was happy to agree to. This was more like what we'd call a ranch dressing - not at all a cocktail sauce you get with prawns in the UK.Myself, I went for a proper steak, the 350g (14oz) Rib Eye. This was perfectly cooked to Medium rare as ordered and was simply excellent. The waiter suggested a Jack Daniels sauce to accompany the steak and he was right, they went very well together. A nice side salad was part of the meal and I ordered an extra side of big fat chips - well what's a steak without the chips? As it was our last night in Austria we thought we'd sign off with a traditional Apfel Strudel. Unfortunately this did not match our expectations as clearly it was not freshly made and was quite stodgy. We had eaten Strudel earlier on our holiday so knew how good it could be! Nevertheless we polished it off and ended the meal very satisfied overall. If we went back again though we'd probably give the dessert a miss. After settling the bill we wandered back to the hotel where it dawned on me that I'd left my mobile phone on one of the seats back at the restaurant. Luckily the waiter had found it and kept it safe for me. Vielen Dank!"
