We have visited this excellent bar on numerous occasions during our trips to the 24 hour race of Le Mans. A magnificent stop in a beautiful city where Tou can drink a jasnier glass, a local and little known wine. Dry, soft and dry, sweet, half-sweet... everything is possible! Is a versatile wine! And the glasses come well identified with a few pieces of bread and rillettes, a local specialty. We come every time we visit the area!
This small bar is a great place to sit and come and walk the beautiful classic cars from the place. It serves some of the local wines and a few beers.
This is my favorite bar at the main square. A great place to bring the family, have some drinks and watch the world pass. The owner is really nice and so is her right hand lady. Always made to feel welcome. The apple juice is particularly good!

Situated on la Place de la Republique, this lovely bar is run by two knowledgeable ladies who have an amazing selection of local wine (les Jasnieres and Coteaux de Loir as well as a cru or two of classic French wines from other regions. A great place to visit at any time of the day (the French think nothing of a cheeky glass of white at 1000hrs on a Sunday morning and why not? for a glass of something delicious. A tasting with rillettes on toast is a good way to get started and we were able to arrange a bigger tasting among four of us. This loosening of resolve helped with a wine purchase, the cases the following day triumphantly wheeled by Madame across the car park on her formidable trolley! Beer, coffee and soft drinks are also served. The terrace is sunnier during the day than in the evenings but the service more than makes up in warmth. Why aren't there places like this in the UK?
