"The place is pleasant enough and the prices are reasonable. Clean toilets. For €13 (at lunchtime on a week day) I had a starter from the buffet (salad, grated carrots, tomatoes, sweetcorn, garlic sausage, tabouleh, hard-boiled egg) followed by fish and chips and then a dessert (coffee with a mini chocolate cake and a mini crème brulée). Starter and dessert were fine but the main course was quite disappointing. The fish itself was very nice, even if the batter, although crispy, was quite oily. The chips were the main disappointment. Fresh chips 'frites fraîches ' are advertised, but those I got were dry and soft and had obviously been cooked from frozen. It 's a pity because the difference with freshly peeled and sliced potato (which I had been expecting) is huge and very obvious for a chip fan. The waitress, although perfectly polite and professional, was not very pleased when I pointed this out. Yet I only did so when asked if everything had been satisfactory, I wasn 't actually complaining. I will go a second time to try something else and to see if they were just having a bad chip day, but I don 't expect much improvement. My friend enjoyed her mussels (provençale) a lot."

"We had dinner here on our overnight stay at the hotel. Fortunately we dined quite early as there was only one poor chap on duty as waiter/receptionist/bottle washer et all. He coped remarkably well although a late influx of patrons did rather stretch his ability but he kept a smiling and polite demeanour, ten out of ten to him. The buffet could have been better but our steaks were cooked to perfection, the wine prices are 'ouch ' but the contents of the bottle were 'tres agreeable '. Overall not at all bad, but one more waiter(ess) would have made a noticeable difference."
