"First NOLA seafood experience and it has not failed! We started with fried alligator, I was nervous, but it was delicious! I'd say it tasted shrimp and chicken. My husband had the fried catfish and oyster combo and I had the crab cake Pasta special. The crab cake was ok, more bready than fleshy, but the taste was good. The catfish was excellent! Oh Cant forget the hurricanes, delicious and refreshing! Megan our waitress was very nice and accommodating. All in all it was a good experience, I would go back!"

"WE ALL WISHED WE WENT TO MCDONALDS INSTEAD AFTER DINING HERE. La Caretta looked very lively so we decided to stop for dinner when driving through the small town. The atmosphere is nice and the service was good, the wait staffed seemed rushed but stilladequately met our needs. My first disappointment was that the menu was very limited. Secondly, I applaud this restaurant forseeking individuality and going outside of what traditional Mexican restaurants serve. Unfortunately, NONE of their uniquetwists added anything positive to their food. They used a lot of spices that didn't blend well with what they were serving. ILOVE all Mexican restaurants and am not a picky eater but I couldn't eat my meal. It all tasted like baby food and vomitmixed. Carrots don't belong in the rice and squash and mystery seasonings don't belong in the pinto beans."

"Despite all the negative reviews, my husband and I decided to try the place out for ourselves. The service was great! We ordered their crawfish tails as an appetizer, étouffée and blackened mahi mahi for our entree and it was more food than we could eat and cooked to perfection! We even had a little entertainment on their outdoor deck after our meal as we watched a 4-5 foot alligator swim by. We can't wait to go back and bring our friends and family with us so they can see how great this restaurant really is."
