"We were looking for a lunch with friends near La Souterraine. We fell on this very friendly hostel. The service is very fast and the dishes are very good (with a choice between several entries, dishes and homemade desserts for a low price). The server was particularly smiling and pleasant. Besides, he was particularly charming, which doesn't ruin anything. I highly recommend and I will come back of course!"

"Lovely evening out with English friends. The new owners were very welcoming and accommodating. The suggestion that the wives would miss a starter and share their husband's was met without the bat of a Gallic eyelid so when the chef arrived with a small teaplate of the starter from the husband's portion but beautifully presented in its own right we were delighted-and as suspected the portion was of ample size to suit everyone. The main courses and desert were delicious-even the chips which accompanied a succulent steak -if they were frozen as is often the case they managed to hide it very well! Will definitely go again and be happy to recommend the place. Like buckmaster53 I cannot accept lindarichardcpr had a normal experience especially as a Sunday roast has not featured on the menu for a number of months as far as I know."

"Well, I am delighted to say that a lovely evening was had yet again and my colleague who accompanied we this time agreed the food was exceptional and tremendous value. The tasty Foie Gras was followed by a perfectly cooked Veal Chop and joined by...a very special 1/2 bottle of wine. Sebastian not only cooked but served the meal with great charm and pleasure. It makes a real difference to to experience the personal touches that he always provides the guests."
