Go early if you want any special items. They get sold out early of a lot of their delicious items. Their tarts are very popular as is their bread. We got their bread pudding, and it was a hit with our company. Prices are at par to other good quality bake shops. View all feedback.
What Ewald O'Kon doesn't like about Humble Pie:
the problem with the muskoka’s is that everyone thinks that his product is the best and this place is not different. this place is expensive for what they get and it is not the friendly place. View all feedback.
You'd have to go to Dwight at the top end of Lake of Bays for similarly delicious butter tarts; they are way too delicious at the Humble Pie. Understated small bakery but delicious good eats. Don't miss it.

As others have said "butter tart factory" on the sign. And we are fanatics. Maybe you have to get there early to get the attention of the owners/employees, or what you want as they seemed not prepared or out of things. We wanted to try single tarts but seemed unable to get it. Then after questioning the employee/owner on things, ingredients and types of items in the various tarts, we felt a little dissed and purchased a 6 pack of what we thought/and told was something, then when we got it home, it wasn't what we wanted to purchase. So, I would feel it was a touch expensive. We did not like the service we got while there for sure and this proved it. Other than that, the pastry on the tarts was very good and a little runny like we like (maybe different for what we asked for). They had some wild boar sausage in the fridge we sort of wanted but knew we could not purchase that day. Many things Looked nice, and maybe items were something I would purchase if there again.
Saw the sign "Butter Tart Factory" and was sold. The shop was nice and clean, the service was fairly quick but not overly friendly, but the product was just okay. Perhaps I've been spoiled by my mom's butter tarts, but for $12 for 6 I was expecting more. The tarts had a decent flavour, but didn't have a great texture. The filling was so runny half of my son's ended up on the table.
Lovely little spot in Baysville where you can purchase various desserts, pies, scones and breads. My favourites are the cheddar-onion scones and butter tarts. You can put in an order ahead of time to make sure they don't run out of what you want on the weekend.
