I didn't expect me to find such a good chocolate. really great bars and stuffed chocolates. try trufas and aguaymanto (golden berries)
If seeing is believing then trying is buying and is by far probably the best chocolate maker in the area.

"I was in Peru for almost 5 years and her burgers are one of the worst I had and that's a ton. The alfredo Pasta was not much better, but edible. Not sure how they have such a high rating, must be from the vegan backpackers who... loved selfies with the butterfly mural. 2 stars just because the bartender was beautiful."

"I come to work for Tarapoto and my local colleague brought us here for lunch. It's my new favorite place. The El Barranquino offers a range of classic and innovative dishes with seafood. I've been here three times. Today I had the...Tacu Tacu al Barranquino and was very satisfied. It was an aji amarillo based ceviche above a grilled fish fillet, above Tacu Tacu (rice and bean mix). It was great!!! Deeply complex aromas. The tempo and texture difference btwn the ceviche over the piping hot grilled fish was perfect and interesting. Nicely seasoned. Chicha morada was also delicious. Just a tad sweet my Fav. Many restaurants in Peru offer overly sweet Chicha. Not here. Very cheap, which is beautiful. Decor is simple, no ruffles. It's about food."

"El Eden in Tarapoto - and her sister restaurant in Chachapoyas - has wonderful, clean, fresh vegetarian food. For lunch and dinner there is usually a menu for 5 soles which includes a large bowl of soup and large entree. Not to be missed is there fruit salad with honey.Very reasonably priced, friendly staff. Closes early on Friday night and re-opens on Sunday morning. No alcohol served."

"This is a nice place for having a drink in the famous street named "Calle de las piedras" (Stone street). It is kind of a 2 blocks Boulevard with a lot of restaurants, discos and bars in Tarapoto. The music is very nice, specially if you like rock and roll. They say that some days they have rock bands as well. They have a terraza and it is nice and fresh. I did not like too much the food since it is a little greasy from my point of view. The pop corn served as snack is too salty (and spicy). But for drinks this place is fine."
