"Five stars is too low of a rating for this place! Stayed at the Mountain Veiw Grand a few nights and happened into this gem the first morning. It was so great we went back the next morning before leaving town! Only a mile away from MVG. Homemade meals served with a smile...they even make their own bread. Just absolutely delicious and run by what has to be the nicest people in New Hampshire! Just go...you won't be sorry!"

"This is an amazing place for food, drinks, and fellowship. If you are going to see a show at the theater next door make sure you make a reservation beforehand. They get very busy during show hours and sometimes can't accommodate walk-ins. All the appetizers are good but my personal fav are the fried green beans and the duck pops. They make a mean steak, and the prime rib is to die for, so succulent so delicious. You almost forget the sides. The drinks are made well and strong. If there is a salmon special, get it! The ambiance is very cozy, very down home. Best staff of any restaurant anywhere! You will not regret going here. They have a menu that will please everyone you're with."

"The room is very impressive, even if most of the wine bottles in the racks were empty fakes for décor only. I ordered the the seared foie gras and my wife the arugula salad. She loved hers while I had to search my plate for a few seconds to find the 1x2-inch slice of foie gras. With such a small portion its hard to tell if it was good or not. The main course was much better. My duck breast was excellent. The duck confit latke was a bit under cooked, but very tasty. My wife's scallops were wonderful. The crème brulée was very good and the portion ample. I was a little disappointed that they had no champagne, cava, or domestic sparkling wine by-the-glass, only prosecco. Our server was cheerful and accommodating. Unfortunately, she was the only server or busser for the entire room. We like a civilized interval between courses, but 3 hours for 3 courses is a bit much. In spite of my miniscule portion of foie gras, the meal would have been quire good if not for the long waits due to lack of staff."
