"Came by as usual in the New Year with my partner when we saw the restaurant had reopened after the Christmas period. We came for our weekly halloumi and pizza date at the Sun Pizza to see a redecorated restaurant. The place feels a lot more cosy and the minimal look suits the place a lot more. The prints and lighting is really cool and modern and the atmosphere is so much better than the darkness and graffiti before. New menu is great, we tried their new pastas: the pesto and carbone are delicious, we chose gnocchi and penne as our pasta with the sauces. Can't wait to come back and try the other pasta options and new pizzas. Staff were lovely as always. Really recommend this place especially since they now do cocktails!"

"We met up with friends plus beagle dog at the Bayhorse , Ellel near Lancaster for a second time this year , while away on our hols in Cumbria . The food was even better than our previous trip in April which...was pretty good then too Had amazing starters , locally produced cured salmon pickled beets pork terrine that we couldn’t get enough of too ! This was followed by super tasty confit of duck legs , seasonal spiced red cabbage , beautiful compliment of jus with blackberries ended on a great homemade orange almond cake . We have eaten in many great gastric pubs restaurants all over the UK are fussy the quality of the food and the excellent , attentive service welcoming feel given by the staff certainly made it worth the trip . Thanks for giving us such a nice time we heartily recommend this place , for a great relaxing lunch with really good tasty food nice atmosphere. Nothing was too much trouble either . We will be back if we had this quality inn on our doorstep , we would be back far more often . What a real gem of a place !"

"We stayed overnight in our camper in their car park with the caveat that we have a meal in the pub. Very glad we did as this is possibly the most hospitable pub and the most friendly staff I have come across. This coupled with brilliant food and drink made it a perfect overnight stay. We only live 35 minutes away but I think we will be making this a regular stop over just to get away for a night or two. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Beer Battered Fish and Chips, Apple Crumble and Custard"

"This is one of my favorite places in the world. we have a few times before and this place holds some very special memories for us. this trip was booked as surprise, so a relaxing and friendly place, service is impeccable and eating is excellent. we both had a deli board, and I had eaten about 20 portions of whitebait. the breakfast is exceptional and the staff is so beautiful, a really relaxing stay, cannot thank them enough for such a beautiful time. we're going to retreat."

"I took Mum and Aunt (both have multiple disabilities) for lunch on Monday, the food was great quality and a good price. The staff were great, Nathan, Rob and Kelly took care of us, nothing was to much trouble. We have decided to make it a regular thing as they enjoyed it so much. The place was clean and well decorated. Definitely recommend to all."
