En route to Paris, changing at Lausanne, this attractive and unassuming nearby cafe was a godsend. It was a beautiful day and we sat on the cafe terrace, glimpsing Lake Geneva and the Alps across Lausanne roofs cascading down the hill to the lake's edge: a peaceful space, with locals sipping cappuccinos and reading newspapers, or chatting over morning espressos. This café has a good location, close to the train station, with a nice terrasse and far from the noises of the street. The service was OK, a bit passive but responsive once you called them. Unfortunately, the food was bad. It was clearly just some random can opened and put in a plate, then “cooked” through microwave. I simply could not eat it at all, which is a first in my lifetime.
