The sushi here was surprisingly great. We had the Phoenix, Tokyo, Hawaii, blue fin, Juneau, and blue something. Weed for sure get all of those again with our favorites being Hawaii and Tokyo. The edamame was great as were the pot stickers. The service was good, not overly friendly but decently welcoming. The atmosphere was a little odd but they made it work. View all feedback.
What Alicia Wallace doesn't like about Blue Fin Sushi:
I had high hopes, the restaurant is beautifully decorated with a very high scale atmosphere, but that’s about where our good experience ended. The service was slow, shuffled between more than one server (both servers were very kind), but our order was messed up. Appetizer was burned and sushi was the worst I have ever experienced. Salty and tasted awful. Not sure what happened to this place as the initial reviews a y... View all feedback.
The sushi tacos are great. Why is this place closed and is it permanent?
Over priced, small rolls and food safety concerns, we have gotten sick after eating their food and apparently we wasn't the first people to have this issue.
Amazing sushi ?. Everything we had was done very tastefully ?. Our sushi chef was Aaron and he took care of us extremely well. Highly recommend this place and definitely ask for Aaron ?
This is by far the best sushi place I've ever been to! They have an excellent selection of rolls to choose from with specialties that leave you wanting more. The edamame was tangy and tender, and the sushi tacos were a pleasant Surprise. Crab and crab cheese wontons were packed with flavor, and left my mouth watering. When our rolls arrived, I couldn't believe the portion sizes. You definitely get what you pay for here. We got the Rip Tide, Spicy Yellowtail, Juno, Cactus, Philly and the Blue Dragon. There was so much flavor in each that my taste buds were on their own adventure. You want to experience flavor on a whole new level and service that goes above and beyond? DEFINITELY go to Blue Fin!!!
My husband and I were riding through Layton late on a Saturday and tried to find a sushi place that was open after 9pm. It was surprising how many places close early. Luckily, we found Blue Fin was still open and they were very welcoming even though we came in so late. My husband had the Japanese beer, Miso soup, and the Wagu beef. I had the hot sake, Pacific roll, and Tonkotsu Ramen. It was all very good and was a nice atmosphere. Just remember when you come to Utah, please don’t expect the fish to be straight out of the ocean. It was a wonderful experience and I’m sure we will be back at an earlier time when we roll through again. It would have been cool if Blue Fin had hibachi. Sadly, I didn’t see one when I was there.
