Zelata Taberna - Lazkao

Sabrosos bocadillos y un ambiente alegre. No puedes dejar de probar las croquetas.

Vale la pena hacer una parada y probar los pintxos que tienen. Muy recomendable.

Nestled next to a river in the small town of Lazkao, Zaleta Taberna is a cool spot to enjoy a Basque pintxo or ración and relax in a shady outdoor patio and listen to the locals as they speak Euskera, the Basque language. My wife and I came across this place by accident on a recent summer afternoon as we were driving through this picturesque valley about an hour away from Donostia. We arrived at the end of the lunch hour and our hostess said she would serve us what she had. It was all great—starting with a caña, or glass, of cold beer and green Guernika peppers sautéed in olive oil and salt, served with a basket of fresh bread! This was followed by a dish of risotto, mushrooms and cheese cooked in a tasty sauce, along with a plate of stewed beef and potatoes. This was a great find and I would definitely come back.
