"We stayed in Ault for four night. Came here on the second night. Based on good feedbacks online we had dinner here. The moment you walk through the door it 's like stepping back in time for 100 or 200 years. In a good way. The whole setting is oldschool-cool. Very luxurious, chandeliers on the ceiling. Warm, welcoming, charming. The owner brings you from the door personally to a table of your choice. But make sure to make a reservation. The Maitre D '/Sommelier will take care of your drinks and brings the food as well. A service staff will clean up the plates. The owner always checks by to see if you 're happy. I felt very well taken care of. It was handled in a nice way. Very welcoming, positive. There was no rush at all. We chose the small set-menu that night. One starter and one main for 29 Euros. And a bottle of Bordeaux Rosé with that. Affordable wine prices. At the start was a complementary Amuse Bouche. Seafood paté with roasted bread. For starters we 've had the Terrine 1837 made from foie gras and truffles. A fantastic choice. So many flavours, couldn 't get enough of it. Then also 6x Oysters for the other starter. We spent 5 weeks in France that summer and had lots of Oysters. And these here were the best. Really great quality, really fresh. And all equally fresh. For the main we had the Brochette de Boeuf. A beef skewer with tomato sauce. This item wasn 't that thrilling. Fine, but not great. But it was a 29 Euro deal. And that 's more than fair. But we spotted an even more interesting menu-combo. So we decided to come back here again two days later and made a reservation right away. A warm welcome again and this time a complementary Amuse Bouche AND a glass of sparkling wine. We went for the Menu Lucrezia Borgia . Starter, Main, cheese and dessert for 59 Euros. Another bottle of Bordeaux Rosé with that. Gazpacho with roasted bread for the Amuse Bouche. For starters again the Oysters (and again fantastic) and the mi-cuit Foie Gras. Wonderful, melted on my tongue. I just love Foie Gras. Hot or cold For the main the Filet de Boeuf Sauce Pèrigourdine . A sauce made of foie gras, onions, mushrooms, porto Cognac. What a fantastic dish. By far the best piece of steak I 've ever had in France. Perfectly cooked (medium-rare as ordered) and a divine sauce. Then came the cheese. A nice selection of french products. For dessert we had the pavlova and the Vacherin de Maison (like a Pavlova, but filled with ice cream). Both items equally great. The meringue was really well made. Perfection. Dinner here isn 't just food. It 's an experience. Wonderful people, fantastic food and a setting you won 't forget. It 's heaven. Go for the more expensive set-menu. It 's really worth it. And: our Bulldog was even welcome to come with us. How great is that. One of the places I 'll never forget. Highly recommended."
