The food is FIYE the best in the city. Came back two days in a row got the enchiladas back doored with the burrito and a chicken taco. Washed it down with a big body sprite on some playa ish. View all feedback.
What Henrietta Espudo doesn't like about El Grullense:
The food was horrible, what’s sad is I’m not a picky eater. I ordered 2 carne asada tacos nothing complicated well they were so greasy and the meat had a horrible taste. I will never stop there again. View all feedback.
Good food! Delicious carne asada burritos and chicken tacos. Especially after the long stop and drive over the Grapevine.

Made a pit stop here for lunch since this is one of the last little towns you can stop in before entering the twisty grapevine section of the highway 5. Pro tip: the gas here is about 40 cents cheaper than the towns further up north, so save yourself some moolah too by stopping here instead : Anyway, the restaurant itself is closed for indoor dining due to the pandemic but there are two outdoor tables you can eat at instead. One's a 4 person and the other is a 2 person table. Inside, there are paper menus pasted at the counter. Pay in cash to avoid an extra 3.5% fee added to credit and debit card transactions. Staff is friendly. FYI restrooms are closed to the public. We ordered burritos which come stuffed with rice, beans, salsa, and your choice of meat. Shredded beef burrito $8.75 Good flavor. Salsa is spicy. Good burrito overall but nothing eye opening. My companion did find a piece of string in his burrito though like the kind of string that meat often is tied up in when raw or marinating so that was not as pleasant of an experience. Lengua burrito $8.99 Mild flavor that's not too overpowering. The salsa is not spicy but had a slight tingle. My burrito was also on the soggier side and was dripping juice so this definitely is a messier meal in case you were hoping for a good eat in the car handheld food. Make sure you have extra napkins or wipes! Something I noticed for both burritos was that these are wrapped in a very thin aluminum foil. Since they cut these in half, there were multiple bits of foil that got stuck in the middle of the burritos so be careful to pick these out prior to eating! Also the burritos here are also on the smaller side and rather expensive for the amount of food that you get. Overall, ok place to get lunch on the go when driving through the area. I personally won't be back due to the foil string in our food pricing, but the flavor of the food here isn't bad at all!
My boyfriend and I both got burritos and they were very good! And friendly service too. I would stop here rather than getting the fast food in the area.
Excellent menudo, served by the owner , excellent breakfast to start the day, delicioso
