"Zu Weihnachten habe ich das Weihnachtsmenue in der Stilvollen Gourmetstube genossen.Die Einrichtung ist stilvoll rustikal und gemütlich.Das Menu in 4 Gängen zu 85.- war sehr gut gekocht, klassisch und ohne grosse Überraschungen.Den Preis empfand ich als angemessen.Die Weinkarte ist sehr schön und hat einige schöne gereifte Weine zu sehr gute Preisen. (z.B. den ausgezeichneten 89er Cos d' Estournel für 175.-, ein Schnäppchen....).Das Hotelzimmer war nett, stilvoll und natürlich sauber.Dennoch empfinde ich die Preise der Zimmer als etwas hoch.Dennoch kann ich das Restaurant und das Hotel für ein gemütliches romantisches Wochenende durchaus empfehlen."

"Once a year my former boss organizes a get together with his former direct reports. I was able to make it this year so I traveled from France to Olten. We met at some bar before we headed to Restaurant Salmen for an amazing dinner....Despite being Swiss, I gotten used to French prices so I found it very expensive but at the same time, I believe that it is for a Swiss restaurant of such quality a price that is ok. Given the quality of the food, it was more than worth it. I went for the set menu which included the starter, 2 main courses and a dessert for CHF 87.00. The salad with bacon and croutons was fantastic, the fish was moist but at the same time, cooked to perfection. The Swiss prime fillet was outstanding and cooked the way I wanted it. In Switzerland you do not need to be ashamed when you want it well-done (in France they look at you as if you were going to kill the cow again... . So a fantastic dinner, with great friends, in a great restaurant with very friendly and efficient service."
