"Pick up early August. Looking for a restaurant, we arrived desperately at 1:30 p.m. in front of the establishment. We were accepted on the terrace (with view of the church). The servers were pleasant and competent. We took the menu. The dishes were good, simple and effective, house (good entrance, very good sausage aligot, clafouti with apricots a little more average). We had a good time. Good value for money. I strongly recommend this establishment."

"If you ever find yourself on a quiet stretch of highway, somewhere between Lyon and Bordeaux, then you have no choice but to stop and enjoy this hidden treasure. You'll have to navigate some unmarked roads, without numbering or lighting, but if you follow your...nose (and GPS) you will arrive at La Ferme de Chadet. A quaint, recently renovated monument to the magic of provincial France. Beautiful stone walls surround a cozy, wooden dining room with a view of a sloping valley, complete with a medieval church. The waitstaff and chef are exceptionally friendly and will happily explain the more daunting parts of the menu. Enjoy a 5 course meal with accompanying regional wines. Each course will remind you why the provincial French are so easy-going and happy to be alive. Start with the scallops, wrapped in bacon and served with a fresh green salad with generous amounts of oil and vinegar. As a main course, enjoy an incredibly tender steak, on a bed of spring potatoes, onions and mushrooms. Each bite was better than the previous and several times, I had to force myself to take a pause just to savor the simple, yet exquisite flavors. Typically, I have my steaks cooked medium, but this place was special, so I allowed myself a rare steak... sublime. This experience was followed up with a cheese platter and an apple pie. When our bellies were full, our shoulders relaxed and our hearts open, we sauntered the 10 steps back to our hotel room in the adjacent building. A perfect night in provincial France."
