"We know this area of Normandy very well after visiting for so many years, and it's fair to say, a lot of the restaurants serve almost identical menus albeit to a great standard....until now! What an absolutely brilliant find Le Sauve Qui Pleut is! We visited on a Saturday evening in low season (February and the place was packed (always a good sign! With mainly local diners (another good sign attracted by the fantastic decor, stunning views and frankly outstanding food. The menu has a struck the balance perfectly between good local French cuisine, excellent seafood and a selection of well researched and executed French takes of dishes from around the world. We had a Thai inspired soup, and a salmon ceviche/tartare style starter. The stuffed duck leg was divine as was the selection of 3 mini desserts that we only had room to share 1 between us!!! Washed down with a damned good bottle of wine it was very lovely indeed! Our son enjoyed a local dish of 3 types of fish in a cream sauce with perfectly cooked rice. Our daughter, who is only 5 had some lovely home made chicken goujons and both kids had a wonderfully sticky chocolate dessert. The quality is exceptional. Everything so fresh. The staff helpful and friendly. We would say this is a mid-priced a la carte establishment. Yet has the usual reasonably priced lunch menu if you prefer. The terrace would be open in the summer and offers wonderful views of Sciotot beach. An absolute must if you are visiting the region."
