we had arrived late, due to traffic problems, with an older one based on a walking frame. no problem. the food came in a reasonable time and was accompanied by a really good Sicilian grill that was under the chocolate orange. kuchen was exquisite! would definitely go back. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Valentina's Delicatessen:
If you are going to have two businesses, set up new accounts. Seems easy to hide behind one. Delicatessen may be doing well but their restaurant is flailing. Booking system poor. Menu too large. One waitress on, doing her best, but not sufficient. Our food...was ok but nothing special. While we were in the restaurant we witnessed other diners sending their dishes back to the kitchen. No music, bland atmosphere. won't... View all feedback.
Came to Valentinas on a Saturday night. Had a nice meal, and requested King prawns in the pasta that I chose and nothing was too much trouble. Great live singer that made a really good atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed the mussels in Saffron cream sauce too...very delicious and would return.
What a pity! We were part of a party of nine celebrating a birthday in the restaurant. Unusually we had been requested to order our starters mains a full three days prior. We arrived minutes after the appointed time to find the table...not ready. After minutes I had to go to the bar to request drinks. Despite pre ordering the meals it still took minutes before the starters arrived. The tomato garlic sauce for my Cozze All Italiana starter was tasty – shame the mussels were over-cooked and tough. It took over minutes for the main course to be served to all of us. Requests for a refill for the water jug had to be repeated. Regretfully the service did not improve as the evening progressed: maybe the money spent on the lady singer would have been better spent on additional table staff. Will check the current reviews before going again.

Here is about the spatialities in the broad street, not about the restaurant directly on the street in the high street. this has just reopened after some construction improvements. now it is more spacious and very nicely refurbished. the old menu is gone, no more meals,...only a cafe menu. Beautiful coffee, and the roasted tee cake of my wife was excellent, unusual it was served with real butter, which is ready not to spread the frozen unhoned pieces found elsewhere. it is now clear a caffe, not a cafe/restaurant, and seems to have begun well in its new guise. they need to replace the current photos to show how much better it is.
We are early on the staff was friendly and polite. we had no starters. we had pizza, calzone and one of the specials. no complain about the size of pizza and calzone both were very good, hot, well cooked. the special. of ravioli with pork and bark meat in a tomato sauce was also very delicious, but could be part with a larger one. it became more busy when we were gone. I would recommend and we will return. I thought the prices were reasonable.
