"Lovely hotel based next to Tarbert. Room was lovely and spacious despite being the standard double and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the bar area was nice and relaxed to sit in whilst tasting some of their signature cocktails!"

"We were not residents in hotel but went for breakfast . After having many mediocre buffets the table service with the choices of menus were very good Freshly brewed filter coffee and fish as part of breakfast both were great. The waitresses were very attentive and offered refills etc quickly. They warned about quantities and warned not to order too much. They were right. Correct and filling for rest of the day until dinner time. Will visit again when next in island."

"Oh, boy, that was delicious! we visited llorna larder twice on our trip to lewis harris, eating is so good. so fresh, plenty of choice and delicious. define a highlight!"

"Quirky hobby house serves the best chocolate brownie we had tasted in a long time. very friendly staff, great view and a beautiful atmosphere especially after a wet/blustery walk from the tempel. the hot chocolate helped us to revise!"

"We booked for dinner as non residents. Faded opulence is definitely the best description. Really awkward crammed into a small lounge for pre dinner drinks and most disgusting amuse bouches straight out of a jar/packet! We had a table in a dingy corner of the restaurant with no atmosphere. We even had a creepy crawly wander across our table not sure where from! Starter was meant to be salad nicoise but contained a blob of hot smoked salmon no tuna to be seen and other bits pretty tasteless with a watery dressing. Yuck. I’d arranged fish instead of lamb on set menu and got two triangles of what was described as turbot tasted of nothing! Certainly didn’t go with mash potatoes and puy lentils. Yuck again. Finally dessert was tarte tatin covered with a sweet coulis of raspberry syrup. Not nice. Couldn’t wait to get out so passed on coffee. No point discussing with chef who appeared with bill overpriced difficult where to start! Won’t be back. It’s a shabby establishment passed its best."
