The conditions and the traffic in that Northeastern town were discouraging even for a stay in that most important town. We found Dunkirk singularly inhospitable for a free-wheeling group of itinerants. Nice friendly staff, food ok but greatly let down by the extortionate price of the wine. With 50 euros for a house red and 35 euros for a half bottle, we had beer instead which spoilt the night. The bill was still 360 euros for 6 people have 2 courses. Not worth the money. read more.
