El Piloto - Lima

We had a nice lunch where I decided to try two zeviches both very recommended. first the shrimp on the rock or sobre la piedra, which is served hot vs the cold style, was a beautiful surprise. but my favorites were the mixed seafood cold. ceviche really great and fresh from the sea almost.

Located in the old panamerican autobahn, this is a prime stone for people who visit the opposite and continue to travel south. they cannot be parked from the car and the gas station next door. climb through an unforeseen wooden/bus entry area into a bright spacious room. a huge counter at one end in front of an even bigger kitchen. there are some out of place paintings on one side and a big tw on the other, but the focus is eating and friends. we went twice at the weekend to the late breakfast and once for lunch. people around us tucked with gusto at any time of day. the menu is plentiful and covers the offer of the classic peruvian cooking. friends recommended the chiffre (excellent) and a tacu (not as good as the refugio in lunahuana.) we also tried an arroz de mariscos who was very good. the service is good and efficient. overall it is worth a stop, but if they don't stay in the opposite, it can be hard to appreciate if they have several hours drive ahead of them. eating and service reflect the well kept clientele mixed with more regular traveling. the atmosphere makes fun with a hauch of an older world, which it in lima dint and so simple, but a quality that is more difficult to find outside the city. it is not cheap and dinge like the freshwater Lostinos are expensive and open not so exceptionally different, once covered with sauce.) better go with the group and be able to share plates and more rehearsal.

Well decorated with very good service, El Polito will not disappoint. Especially in the food department. I had the corvina with mariscos which was served on a bed of potatoes alongside rice and a sauce that was absolutely out of this world. The prices are...a bit high, but given the quality of the food and experience, well worth a special treat.

Hands down our favorite restaurant near Paracas, Peru. Always crowded and the food is always plentiful and good.

Located just off the Pan American Highway two hours south of Lima, you'll find clean restrooms, a relaxed atmosphere and courteous wait staff, and an adjacent gas station. They've recently opened a second diner on the bay of Paracus for those visiting the Ballestas.
