I had a fantastic dining experience at 38. The lamb dish was absolutely delicious and still lingers in my memory. The staff was attentive and friendly. I am looking forward to returning to try more of their delicious menu offerings. View all feedback.

once again excellent. I have eaten in every restaurant in the Bail area of lincoln and this place kicks off. great quality, service and presentation, nowhere else in lincoln is close. I have no prejudice to this place except that I am consistently impressed. After I'm raised from london, I'm a regular food blogger and therefore my prime status. Average. nothing to be excited about. they gave him a faclift in front of him, which is in order, but nothing special. eating is the same as any one else in the bailgate. everything I say, try somewhere else.
Oh dear, what a great shame. We used to like dining here, but on our last two previous visits we were so disappointed. Family came over from the USA to see us and we took them to No 38 for a family get together. On that last visit on Fathers day, it was a complete disaster. The Sunday roast was inedible and the Yorkshire puddings were all but cremated. This was followed by ice cream served on warm plates. After complaining they reduced the bill, but I would have been happy to have paid the full amount or a little bit more if the meal was acceptable. The staff were very nice, but the food was as poor as it gets and most of it was left on the plates (x6). Unfortunately this experience has meant we will never dine here again. A complete waste of money. Sorry for this review, but it’s true!
Fabulously creative menu , had a lovely goats cheese starter followed by chunky piece of halibut. Service extremely friendly too. Great find away from chains and beef burgers!
Located within a hotel, this restaurant is tucked away from the main roads of Lincoln. It's a pleasant walk up Steep Hill, near the Water Tower. We decided to try the A La Carte menu, which we found to be reasonably priced. The blue cheese souffle was absolutely delicious. I have a special rating system for Sticky Toffee Pudding (STP) based on the amount of sauce I receive, and this restaurant came close to a perfect score. However, I have to deduct a point for the lack of greeting upon our arrival. We found ourselves waiting around at reception for about 5 minutes, despite it not being busy. Fortunately, the service improved after that and we had a very enjoyable experience.
