The French onion soup and beef Wellington were particularly outstanding. The restaurant provides great value for the money and is a definite must-visit for anyone in the downtown Lincoln area. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are reasonable. Reservations are recommended as the restaurant tends to fill up quickly due to its popularity. The staff is attentive and friendly, creating a pleasant dining experience overall.
The willingness to make vegetarian menu items vegan is hardly a victory if you are hungry with a lush bill. It is no secret that I am a great eater; I wish I thought the French were notorious for small portions. Does not help the veg-friendly add-ons are all vegetables $4 for broccoli or 1⁄2 avocado or $5 for grilled vegetables). There's a vegan burger I got before, with pommes because I'm too frugal to justify an extra $4 under fruit, but I usually want something healthier. My individual salad was probably healthier, but there was not much that my bill was not much smaller. In total, described from the linen napkins tablecloths to the rich, elegant desserts, from all appearances, this place is fantastic. Unfortunately, it is not for me because I want food that is vegan, of substance, no arm costs me a leg.
On Sunday, 7/16/17, at Green Gateau in Lincoln, Brunch and Wednesday, 7/17/17 for lunch. Vegetarians have many possibilities here. There are fewer vegan dishes, but there is a vegan salad, a vegan sandwich, veggie burger, and herbal pasta (with cheese topping). Sunday brunch was particularly good, and there is an extensive beer and wine list. Our table enjoyed fruit crepe, delicious beignets, quiche and a unique blue cheese potato salad. The name plate is Green Gateau cake, a chocolate sponge and mousse cake with pistachios, decorated in Monet colors and decorated with a lily. The cook seems creative, so don't hesitate to ask for changes.
A completely dishonest 5-star rating! The food was amazing for all 4 of us who met for brunch. The cocktails were on site and the service was friendly and competent. I had the Corned Beef Hash that was as far from the normal Diner version as you can imagine. The picture shows more, but these were large pieces of fresh corned beef, potatoes and vegetables, with perfectly fried eggs on the side. I also asked for Hollandaise sauce on the side, and I highly recommend that it creamy, perfectly seasoned, and delicious! The hash was tastier when the image can convey. My wife had no joke about the old Grains salad, which was presented on the plate as an art piece, see the picture! For vegetarians this is a heavenly dish, and for those who are not, it is definitely worth trying. We also had several cocktails, including the Blueberry mule, the Moimosa and the Irish coffee. Trust me when I say that everything you order will be amazing. You need to make reservations to come, believe me, do it and experience this place. It's fantastic! We come back and try some other articles.
The food was delicious! I had beignets as an appetizer and Pasta Gorgonzola with chicken. To drink I had the Hawaiian Mimosa and Red Sangria. Service was great! We had a reservation for four and I know I got a confirmation, but on arrival my name was nowhere on their system. Ari was the hostess and was friendly enough to honor our reservation, although she did not appear on our system. I was with friends who are out of town because their mother is in the hospital, recovering from a chair, so we wanted to treat them a little time away from all the stress and anxiety they have been under so for them to honor our reservation, meant so much. Thank you. Ari and thank Noel for your attentive service.
This is INCREDIBLE. Start to finish. Went during Happy Hour 5pm-6pm on Monday. Wonderful staff. Clean and clean atmosphere. AMAZING Food (not even exaggerated). Had the Calamari, Mac and cheese with truffle oil and lobster, and ignets. He beat everything out of the park. Calamari was buttery and delicate. Perfect creamy Mac and cheese. The Beignets stole the show when cured with their lemon and recommend fresh cream. Go!
