"We arrived and were given the worst table next to the entrance although there were at least 10 better tables still free. Explanation was that everybody else had reserved „a month ago“. Interestingly the name on our table was a completely different one (Matteo). Seems they don’t like foreigners any more. Other guest left as well because they were disappointed, one couple came back after the owner ran after them. Food was nowhere as good as it used to be either. Very very disappointing as this used to be one of my favorite restaurants in the Äölian Isöands."

"Back in Stromboli after two trips had to be re scheduled because of Covid. And back to Punta Lena twice for lunch and for dinner. Absolutely superb."

"Of course, compared to the top restaurants of the island “from Francis” presents aesthetic gaps but made this necessary premise I ate very well. Stuffed with mussels, eggplant meatballs, spaghetti zucchini and shrimp and to finish the best dish: grilled swordfish rolls. Excellent raw materials and well cooked. Drink the wine of the house, good and cold. The only pecca sgroppino, excellent prices for the island. Congratulations."

"We were so lucky to find Mr Zurro, sorry if I’m mistaking his name..anyways, the food was super fresh and tasty. He treated as so well. It was late and he was about to shut but he let us eat and it was the most delicious meal I have had. Not only for the food but also for this kind soul and extreme generosity. People like him make Sicily what it is. A land of sun and smiling people. The wine, pasta and fish rolls where out of this word. His service left as speechless. Such a kind person. I highly recommend this place to anyone. Fresh and honest, straightforward Sicilian food served with love. Thank you!!!"

"Awful place the largest restaurant on the waterfront and probably has a near monopoly for the needs of the visitor in a hurry. Pizzas are the mainstay and they have no gluten free ones at all. The alternative meals are few in the extreme and I had to ask over and over again to get my food delivered; they just didn’t seem interested. I finished up getting my meal when everyone else in our party had finished. Take sandwiches it’s better than patronising this place that just sees your special needs as getting in their way."

"On a walk up the hill to the Church, left of the wharf, this is an excellent place to stop. They have all sorts of paninas, some enormous, some not, but they also operate as a bakery and patisserie so you can get a range of food and drink. They also have a toilet a godsend in tiny Panarea They must operate as the local bakery to the small population of something like 200 people so give them your custom and buy some of the home made biscuits"

"This was by far the worst meal we've had in one week in the Eolian Islands, and the worst I've had in many trips to Southern Italy. After all, in line with the general disappointment about Panarea. The entrée was really nothing special. And both...the involtini di spada and the totano ripieno were disappointing. Nice view on Stromboli though."

You simply MUST have one dinner here. Make sure you get a table upstairs with the view and, always ask for the recommended cut of beef."
