What User doesn't like about Hummus Republic:
I went to the restaurant with high expectations, but I was disappointed. The falafel was bland and seemed undercooked to me. However, they had a variety of toppings to choose from and the pita bread was delicious. View all feedback.
I love Hummus Republic and we used to drive to Newark. And I was so happy to see a new location open just a mile from my house. As usual, the food in the place is awesome, healthy and tasty. Since I follow low-carb diet, this is a great place since it offers a lot of low-carb options like bowls. The people serving there were courteous and nice to us.The only reason I took a star off is because their falafel was not full cooked. The center of the falafel tasted like dough. Probably I was unlucky to get a bad batch. I don’t know whether I will try falafel again. My daughter was also so disappointed.
There are many gluten-free options available at this restaurant. Guests have the flexibility to create different meals each time they visit. The dishes offer a good amount of protein for the price. The bowls are portioned for one, so sharing is not recommended. The cauliflower rice and falafel are delicious choices. As someone with celiac disease, I have not gotten sick from eating here, making it a great option for those with dietary restrictions. I am excited to try the Tahini shake next time!
I really liked my meal at this restaurant because they offer a variety of vegetable options for their bowls. My bowl had kale and well-seasoned cabbage, and there was no need for any starch.
The food at this restaurant was a disappointment. My boyfriend and I ordered a falafel bowl and a vegan steak bowl, and shared a date shake. Despite choosing various flavors, the bowls had a lack of taste and the pita bread did not seem fresh. The date shake, while appealing visually, was watery and had a large ice chunk at the bottom. One of the staff members was uninformed about the vegan options, but another employee was able to assist me. The online menu indicated vegan items, but the restaurant lacked clear signage. Overall, I had high hopes for this place but ended up feeling unimpressed.

The food displayed looked incredibly fresh and beautiful. The woman behind the counter, possibly the owner, greeted us warmly and patiently helped us decide on our meal choices. She prepared a hot and fresh falafel with a smile, providing excellent customer service. The falafel was generously sized and had a nice kick to it. We are excited to try their burger next time instead of the falafel. We also tried their spicy sauce, which was delicious but be warned, it's hot! If you're used to heavy spiciness like that in Indian/Thai/Burmese cuisine with real chili, you'll enjoy it.
