Just a great pub not trying to be anything else. Good drinks selection, well presented pub food. Sports on TV that isn't intrusive. Good level of music to create atmosphere without being over loud. Never quiet, never so busy you can't find a seat. Used to have a band on at weekends (hope they still do). Good mix of locals and visitors. Always get a visit in when we're there. The pub is in a great location within the city, however it’s let down by fairly poor bar staff (with the exception of one who was fantastic) and poor quality over priced food. The menu is the usual standard pub food and has a reasonable selection, yet when trying to place a food order my wife was ignored despite their being nobody else at the bar!
