We celebrated my mum's 80th birthday with family and friends in the back function room at Murphy's Town Hall. I must say, the staff, especially Connor and Dave, were amazing. They were very helpful, listened to our needs, and guided us through a stressful but wonderful experience. The food was exceptional and the room was beautifully decorated. We all had a fantastic time in a relaxing atmosphere and I would definitely use this venue again for another special occasion. I highly recommend using DJ Stupot - he was brilliant.
My husband and I visited this restaurant today with a Groupon meal deal for 2 steaks, sides, and a glass of wine. When I looked up this place online, it didn't seem very appealing, but upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it looked. It was very quiet when we arrived at 8 o'clock, and we were the only ones waiting to eat. The server was very professional, seating us at our table and asking us what we wanted to drink and if we were having starters (which were not included in our deal). We decided to order starters, choosing chicken and chorizo and halloumi and peppers, both of which were delicious. However, when our steaks arrived, they were disappointing. I'm not sure how they were cooked, but it seemed like they were either fried or cooked under a grill, rather than on a chargrill. We had asked for medium, but the first time they came out rare, and the second time they were cooked medium rare. When they returned to us, nothing on the plate had been refreshed, and the mushrooms were cold while the chips were lukewarm. I had to speak to the server to address the issues, and she graciously made things right. Despite her efforts, we were still very disappointed and do not plan on returning to this restaurant.
