While some customers have found the food to be lackluster, others rave about the hor fun being one of the best in Brisbane. The environment may not be the best, but the friendly service and affordable prices make it a great spot for families or groups looking for good Asian food. With a variety of menu options and a cozy atmosphere, Lok Fok is a must-try for those craving Cantonese style roast/BBQ meats in the Sunnybank area.
This is a place with good ideas. You can have a freshly cooked lunch in a small portion served with rice. It's not the fast food type where you scoop the precooked dishes from the bar. There are many dishes (with pictures) you can choose from the listing, which is on display on the top of back counter (ie. from inside the SunnyPark shopping centre). I have tried 2 dishes from the listing, ie Stir Fried Egg Plants and Sweet Sour Pork, both served with rice. I have also tried Char Kwee Tiauw, Roast Duck and Won Ton Noodle Soup, which are not part of the package, except the Roast Duck.. Although the food in this place is not at the high end of the scale, it is edible and economical. I would like to recommend this place for those who want to have a quick lunch.
Hands down my top favourite at sunnybank. Taste great and portion is superb. Would recommend the hainan chicken rice, the crispy fried fish or any of the dry noodle meals.
Lok Fok is a bit of a favourite for its reliable good food and reasonable prices. We got a range of food with roast duck and fried combination ho fun. It was a great meal. The duck was excellent and the ho fun had that wok hei taste to it. Real good will be back!
We were one of the first 30 customers to be issued VIP Cards when they first opened but have not been back for several years. It used to be one of the best Chinese BBQ places in Brisbane; not anymore. As we were in the vicinity, thought we will drop in for a quick lunch as there were only 3 other customers and 2 of them were already eating and there was a takeaway customer that ordered pearl tea. Firstly, we had to wait 24 mins for a very disappointing Hainanese Chicken Rice and Roasted meats Roasted Duck and Crispy skin Pork) that is after having to ask twice. Although the portions were generous, it did not compensate for the slow service and the poor quality of the roasted pork I have had better pork at a Hangi in New Zealand) and over cooked chicken, We will not be going back ever.
Lok Fok is really very well priced but as I found out, you get what you pay for. We went there after being recommended by a friend for the bargain Peking Duck. Well, the duck was pretty average which reflcted the price. Of the other dishes we had, the combination noodles was well, average. I also found their chicken rice to be very average. The Chicken was relatively tasteless.
