Bulldog Drinks Burgers from Lombas Menu

"After happening on this place by accident during a little venture round 'the city' one day and vowing to come back for a meal one evening, our week on Porto Santo flew and before we knew it the last night was upon us. We'd ventured down to the harbour, walked back along the beach, paddling in the tide as it came in, and got to Vila Baleira starving and not relishing the idea of the all inlcusive buffet at the Colombos. In spite of the fact my boyfriend and I looked a little like we'd washed up on the beach, we went into the restaurant expecting to be told there were fully booked. To our surprise we were show to a table for two and were served the most amazing, albeit simple, meal we'd had all holiday. The restaurant owner was wonderful, recommending dishes (and also telling us what not to have, a practice that was new to us but still very helpful) and helping us to choose the fish of the day and the fillet steak between us, as well as a bottle of house white. My fish was unbelievable, I have no idea what it was apart from that it was plentiful and beautifully cooked. My boyfriend declared his steak the best he had ever eaten. We finished with a chocolate fondant each. The bill was around £60, which we thought was excellent value, especially as we were offered a lift home, an offer we declined as we needed the walk to the taxi rank to come out of our food comas. We were the only British couple in the restaurant that evening, something the owner told us was commonplace. She suggested that the Thomson reps don't promote it, choosing to plug Panorama instead, which I couldn't comment on as we only drove past there in our Twizy. Whatever the reason, we had a wonderful meal that ended our holiday perfectly. If I had to advise on dress code though I'd say that you would probably feel slightly more comfortable if you weren't wearing distressed denim shorts with sand down your legs, although it wouldn't detract from the eating experience at all."

We ordered the food and starters, then they came to say that we had to change the order, they took a long time to order and the starter only came when we had already ordered the coffee...
