Such a lovely little place. Simple, traditional, extremely quick service. I would love to go back. I ordered Lamb Cumin miso Hiya-Atsu and my husband ordered chicken Kara-Age Don, Kakuni and Ozeki One Cup mini. The food was very good. View all feedback.
What Vacationer776237 doesn't like about Koya Bar:
I went with my daughter, ordered tempura udon and kitsune udon and 1 apple juice. The bill was a whopping 35+ pounds. I understand the rent in Soho must be expensive, but still the udon dishes were not worth the price. The tempura sauce was too light and the noodles were way too big and thick and heavy. The balance between flour and water was not good, I dare say it was amateurish. Won't go again. View all feedback.
Beautiful raben! not big in part, but love the seat plan where sit around the kitchen, cool idea, a great place to lunch with friends, but not optimal to dinner, as the people sitting next to each other can be difficult to chat while enjoying the diners:
Good place to have udon. the nudel itself was fresh and had a perfect texture to bite. the broth was super clear and heartwarming. the black was delicious and juicy. really a good bowl of udon.
Duck and waffle is one of the highest restaurants in london and leads 24 hours. trust me when I say that - it is packed for all these 24 hours each day! They have a bar and a restaurant and it is always full! we have booked a Sunday brunch for Mother's Day and loved him! we ordered their famous duck and roast, chicken,
Needed some light and warm to dinner because temperature has dropped off.) I heard that the koya bar has one of the best udon in london. only ordered the kake udon level udon) with tamago as supplement. the nude is so chewing. broth is light, but tasty. tamago is so soft and beautiful and the chili powder is quite sharp!
When I heard the original Koya were to close down last year I feared that there would be nowhere else in London to have authentic Japanese food besides sushi and ramen (god forbid places like Taro, which I might or might not review). Thankfully they opened a sister branch, Koya Bar, right next door with a few more dishes besides their fantastic udon.
