I and my hubby are always looking for places that serve sugar-free dessert and were glad to have found this in london. all they serve is sugar-free and they also have a lot of dressings that are gluten-free. I enjoyed her cappuccino, who was quite strong and was made with her secret sugar free nectar. blueberry cheesecake and vegan carrot cake were both super delicious. the prices are little on a higher side, but the... What Bridgette Boyle doesn't like about Romeo's Sugar Free Bakery:
At Romeo's they do some things very well and some others not so much... Their vegan: brownies, coconut cake and apple cakes are super tasty. They also have seasonal sweets on top of that usual vegan offer. However when it comes to veganism things they just tend to remove the cheese (like their vegan pizza) or brunch toasts. The service is not ideal and they are on the expensive side of things by charging £3.5 for bro... View all feedback.
Like most people I had the absolutely bad experience with them! blinded by false ads on their website, I do not regret reading reviews thoroughly before placing an order. I was looking for a sugar-free cake for my wife's birthday, and I gave a job on her website for her instructions and let her know about the delivery date, etc. in the ordering documents. After I had placed the order on August 8th, 2021, I called them to confirm the details, and they said they had everything and I don't need any care. On August 25th, I called them to ask about the delivery time. btw, they barely answer their phone, which is perfectly in tune with their excellent customer service! After 30 try when they finally answered their phone, they were unclear about my order, but repeatedly say when I command one, I will get it! I was not convinced and called them an hour or so later, and lo and behold, they had no idea what the cake was or what the delivery address was! They said that they could only see the order number on their system and nothing else! So, in French they said that they had the cake in store and they will send it over. I had asked for a vegan cake, but they did not seem to have it, so I had to accept a regular cake (cost 44.99) they said they would refund the remaining amount of 5, which of course not! fantastic customer service continued when the cake arrived, and the supplier called that he cant out of the car, as there was no free parking (which of course existed) and I have to go after him to get the cake! after the kerfuffle he came up and left the cake box on the door. When I opened the box, the cake looked nothing like the pictures they have on their website! I don't apologise, the cake that arrived looked like the poop emoji with a few ugly sloppily thrown up and garnished with something! I prayed that it tastes at least good, but also no luck there! it has the granular texture of wet sand (it could be used to make sand casting on the beach, and now that I think about it, maybe so they were able to stack it to look like the poop emoji,) and taste like it too! so they save the stress, frustration, horror, disappointment and heartache, and give it a miss! updated by previous review on 2021-08-28
Takeaway: vegan triple chocolate cake, vegan apple mandelkuchen, vegan kokosnuss cheesecake I didn't dip, and just stopped to get vegan cakes to take with. it seemed to be popular with locals who had breakfast/brausch here. the waitress was very helpful and friendly, happy answered the questions I asked about the various vegan goodies they have and was very opposed to mine. there are many sitting options – some tables outside and also below (I think). the place has a rustic and warm charm to it with predominantly wood interior. the vegan cakes I had were a mix bag. that's great is that they weren't excessively sweet. the vegan triple chocolate cake was average for me as it was quite dry and had not the intense chocolate taste I expected. the vegan coconut cheese cake was good, although it was too soft for me, and I really liked the vegan apple and mandel cake. a novel idea of a bakery natural sugar and offers vegan gluten-free options, but left more to wish taste wise. they have a good potential, but have definitiw space for improvements with their sweet tasty. Nevertheless, I would like to come back to try their breakfast/lunch.
I love how everything is gluten-free and natural sugar, and there are many vegan options too. it can be so hard to cross all these boxes!
I've been refined sugar free for over 3 years now and so spotting this sugar free outlet was a pleasant surprise. We were in a rush so did not try as many cakes as we wished but without a doubt the savoury items were the best. There are plenty of vegan options and the cheesy spinach pastry roll was a delight. The chocolate brownie was however a complete waste of time. dry, tasteless and dull. The prices are as one might expect on Upper Street islington, damn expensive. Top tip is to go towards the end of the day when the friendly staff we were served by offered us items cheaper that were the last of the day Maybe she spotted two poor folk from another socio economic lifestyle or maybe its policy either way we were grateful for the offer.
Found this little place as I came to Assembly Hall for a show, and tons of vegan options! Really enjoyed it
