We have once again enjoyed an excellent meal at Scharff's Schoßweinstube and felt very comfortable all around... we will gladly come back. The idea of dining at Scharff's Schoßweinstube before the castle festival performances is a great way to round off the evening and is a very successful combination. View all feedback.
An absolutely fantastic dinner. My husband I ordered the full Karl Theodor tasting menu: So tasty! Everything was cooked to perfection and the portion sizes were correct (We didn't feel under or overfed by the time we left . Our favourite savory dish by far was the Stewed Rabbit with Truffle the balance of flavours textures was perfect. The housemade focaccia was a nice treat too. The sommelier took care of the wine pairings for the duration of the meal and did a bang on job. It's not often we have a night where every pairing actually suited every course but in this case, he did it! He was very knowledgeable and chose some great regional wines to go with our meal. 5 stars go to the sommelier. The service overall was very good. The dining rooms were very nice and the generous spacing between the tables was appreciated. The only complaint I have is a little unfair, since I actually work in the music industry. The ambient music was a bit of an issue the genres were correct, however the mood and the intermittent breaks between (what I assume was CD's being changed was quite distracting and created a deafening silence that would stop conversations. It's really not fatal, and I'm certainly more sensitive to ambient sound in comparison even to my husband. : I can say that we will be recommending Scharff's Schlossweinstube to our friends and colleagues, and will be returning with guests. Thank for a lovely evening.
I had reserved the Dinner for Two for my partner's birthday. The arrival was easy with our own car, and the surroundings of Heidelberg Castle always look beautiful. The welcome was friendly, they knew about the reservation and had seated us at a table for two. There was enough space between the neighboring tables to have undisturbed conversations. We had booked a surprise 3-course menu, but there were also a few extra treats from the kitchen at the beginning and end of the meal, which were all delicious. Personally, I found the food wonderful and could not fault it. It was a very lovely evening for the price and the quality of the experience.

Peter was excellent. The service was great, but the portions were quite small. The prices were very high, especially considering we left the restaurant still hungry. The atmosphere and the quality of the food were superb. However, some dishes were overpriced for the amount of food you received. A prime example is the soup; receiving only two or three tablespoons for €18 is absurd! Despite it being our anniversary dinner and us enjoying it, we will not be returning due to the high prices for small portions. Good luck in the future!
We attended the Heidelberger fireworks and chose the diverse menu with great wine recommendations, as well as champagne, in a special area of the castle. The service was impeccable, the atmosphere was very pleasant, and the crowd was relaxed. A bit more salt in some dishes would have added an extra special touch.
