Contribute FeedbackBlakemore Hyde Park Hotel offers a romantic setting with delicious food, although portions can be overwhelming. The staff is warm and professional, adding to the cozy atmosphere. However, issues with gluten-free options and noisy customers in the bar detract from the overall experience. Despite some minor flaws, the attentive service and excellent meals stand out, with options like lamb chops and sticky toffee pudding receiving high praise. The menu, though somewhat limited, offers quality dishes like Salade Nicoise and chicken in lemon. Overall, Blakemore Terrace provides a pleasant dining experience worth returning to, especially for the welcoming ambiance and great service.
The service was lacking, the salmon was subpar, and the prices were expensive.
I discovered Blakemore while walking to and from my hotel and decided to give it a try. The restaurant is cozy and the bar/lounge area looked very welcoming. I ordered the lamb chops, which were delicious and served with a large mushroom cap, baby carrots, and chips. The chips weren't hand-cut from fresh potatoes and were disappointing. For dessert, I had a truly amazing sticky toffee pudding with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The service was excellent and overall I would definitely return to eat here again.
My fiancé and I were staying a couple of streets away from the restaurant and we wanted to have dinner somewhere local on our last night of holidays. The place was very intimate and cozy and the food was excellent, but what really stood out for us was the staff. Everyone was so attentive and warm, making us feel right at home from the very beginning. It was the staff that truly created a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Everyone was laughing and enjoying themselves, and you could feel the positive energy. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. In fact, thanks to our wait staff, we are now considering staying at the hotel for our next visit to London.
The ambiance of the place hit you as soon as you enetered. The staff were very friendly and attentive at all times. The meal was excellent, but the prawn cocktail was overpowered by the amount of prawns and the lack of lettuce, cucumber etc. There was no sauce to speak of so to my mind it was not a prorper prawn cocktail. The remainder of the meal was excellent and I would recommend it to anyone.
No training whatsover with regard to Coeliacs. Gluten free bread was brought out on a plate of normal breads. Waitress told us that the salmon with bearnaise sauce had been cleard by the Chef as being gluten free. As we are experienced diners we asked another waitress who quickly confirmed that the bearnaise sauce was NOT fit for coeliacs as it contained gluten. Terrible start to the evening as a mistake here woul;d mean 24hrs of painful gut pains. Eventually the meals arrived and they were very good, as before. But they really need to train their staff. All this hasstle was after emailing the hotel during room booking and during tablke booking with details of one coeliac diner would likely choose the salmon dish . Ample time to source gluten free bearnaise sauce for example.
