What Rüdiger S doesn't like about Aji Peruvian Cuisine:
I've eaten at Aji a dozen times if not more. Last nights dinner was again delicious. It's what happened toward the end of our meal. Why would management allow or ask staff to start cleaning the restaurant while 2 tables of 4 people are still eating. We had food sitting on our table when the stacking of chairs began, when the sweeping began and when the mopping with cleaner began. It's one thing to start putting thing... View all feedback.
My Peruvian-born wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the authentic cuisine at Aji for a Sunday lunch. The anticuchos were very well seasoned and cooked to perfection, accompanied by a tray of three fabulous dipping sauces. Likewise, the whitefish ceviche was perfectly marinated in their leche de tigre ' spicy lime sauce. The tallarines verdes (green spaghetti without meat) was outstanding in that it was creamy without being heavy and very flavorful and the noodles cooked just right as “al dente”. The ambiance is very relaxed but tasteful; there were no TVs blasting away with sports and other distractions, so this is a great place for a date night. Many thanks to owners Rosita and Mito (chef) for their wonderful service, food, and hospitality!
Service could be a little faster , my beer braised short rib with the beans and rice was delicious . The chimmichurri for the empanada was not so good , the choclo empanada was okay not great .The sangria vas very watered down , tasted like it was sitting in ice ..The server was a very nice lady …The ceviche was good with the halibut and sweet potatoe
What a pleasant surprise. We were a little skeptical about this place after seeing the pics and prices, especially having had great Peruvian food in OC and LA. BUT, everything about our experience exceeded our expectations and then some. It’s a little pricier than the typical Peruvian restaurant, but it’s absolutely worth it. The food is exceptionally good. The service is very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. We shared the Lomo Saltado, Aji de Gallina, and the tallarines verdes with beef between 4 people and still had leftovers. Overall, some of the best Peruvian food in the area. BONUS: the complimentary homemade chips and sauces are VERY good. Great touch.
I’ve been a customer for many years, the food quality and service is as good as the first day, the food is always great.Food: 5/5
