Our party of 11 had a wonderful time. Our birthday guest called it “the best meal I’ve had since I moved here “ (which is saying a lot as he is the pickiest person we know . What Nancy McCartney doesn't like about Baja Norte:
I was not impressed with Nathan our waiter. A tag on 20 percent, not 18 not 15. Kind of unfriendly and felt we were imposing on him. Did not crack a smile. I did not want to tip him but did not want to make trouble. But he should earn his tip and not expect it for below standard of service. Ate out of the restaurant but service sucks for a 4-5 star restaurant View all feedback.
Your restaurant is not open yet it still takes reservations on open table. That is a major product failure especially when making reservations on Valentine’s Day. Please fix your reservations system immediately.
Obviously it 's hard to review a restaurant when all the guests have to sit outside due to COVID restrictions, and it 's hard to get a true handle on service, food, and basically everything because life during these Coronavirus times are iffy . However, that being said, I think it 's incredibly brave to open a new restaurant during these times. Baja Norte far exceeded my expectations and I 'm thrilled to have a delicious new menu to enjoy. I 've heard complaints that the food was too expensive but my husband and I did not find that to be the case. I ordered the seabass tacos at $28 but it was a huge amount of food. There were 3 beautiful tacos overflowing with deliciousness; the seabass was abundant and not deep fried like so many other places. It was lightly floured and seared so the outside was crisp but the inside was buttery. I could only stuff myself with 2 and no way could I have eaten the other items that came with my order. We also had the guacamole perfection, and I don 't know if the chips are homemade but they are delicious. My husband loved his carne asida tacos and we started with the chorizo quesadilla and I thought my husband was going to drink the entire bowl of salsa. But drinks this is the same owner who had the Rebecca 's restaurant in Venice back in the '80s and they have the same oh so famous margaritas. So, yeah.....GREAT margaritas. Service was attentive and friendly and we left feeling content in every way.

This particular group of friends can be persnickety (part of the reason we took them out instead of cooking for them at home! but the Brentwood Restaurant Lounge staff handled them all with aplomb and everyone had a lot of fun.
The service and atmosphere at this restaurant were excellent, but we were disappointed with our $70 prime NY Strip steak, which was as tough as leather. This was likely due to the quality of the beef supplied, rather than any fault of the restaurant.
As always we love Brentwood. Kinda moody and classic with good vibe. Just had drinks and quick bites. My salad was good. Feel like my favorite thing to order is no longer on the menu :
