there are some nice tables on the terrace, so I thought it would be great to eat outside, as there will be no bug like flying to disturb me. but it's kind of too cool to eat outside since it's been a january at first! View all feedback.
What PJ doesn't like about Sanamluang Cafe, Hollywood/thaitown:
The soup Tom Yum shrimp was not that appealing in presentation and didn’t look appetizing. At least not how most Thai spots have served it. The sweet and shout shrimp looked more appetizing and tasted good.. not too sweet which is great. Small shrimp but it was still flavorful. Thai ice tea is def good and so is the jasmine hot tea. The spot is really busy. Def not cleanest LA spot and restrooms need some care- major... View all feedback.
This restaurant stays open until pretty late in the night. Sanamluang is a no frills restaurant. Service is quick and the food is pretty tasty. The pad see ew noodles stuck together a bit more than I liked but the roast duck on rice was really good. The portions were a good size.
I've known this place since 1997, last time ate here around 2000. The taste still the same except the Cha Po, deep fried roasted pork was really hard, I can't even chew it and also the BBQ pork bit dark and didn't look fresh at all.The Best Fried shrimp cakes, love it recommended.Pork Leg over rice also really good but bit too much fatty but still really good.
This place is a bit chaotic and very busy. Their wait list needs improvement. Once you are seated, everything moves along. The food came out pretty quick and almost all at once. This is not high end Thai food but it is satisfying. Perfect late night meal.
One of my favorite Thai spots in Hollywood, and thats saying a lot. I eaten a lot of stuff on the menu and pretty much everything is fantastic. Highly recommend their red curry, crying tiger, and morning glory salad. Pad thai here is always a classic. Surprise yourself by ordering something they don't have a picture of on the menu. It can get crowded in the evening so just be prepared.
We departed a concert and we searched for a midnight munchies restaurant that stays open late. This place was pretty busy at midnight but we didn't have to wait to be seated. I ordered my favorited dish which a is combo pad Thai spicy, combo fried rice, plus a Thai tea. Once we received the big plates of food it was love at first bite. The food was flavored just right and I could say this is one of the best Thai restaurants in LA.
