my first time here and it was such a great experience. the food was very fresh and delicious. Beyond that, our server and pretty much all employees with the menu were very knowledgeable. every time the courts came out, the server would explain each court product. great ambiente! I think the only case is that the seats were very tight and close to other guests. on the flip side they ask for proof of vaccine and ID. th... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Sugarfish By Sushi Nozawa:
Not sure if it was just this location but I usually love Sugarfish. This experience was not what I remember. We ordered the Don't Think Just Eat, and a few pieces of the nigiri and the sashimi starter had a ponzu type sauce on it and they drowned those dishes in sauce. Too much. The rice was falling apart under all of the nigiri we received which made it hard to eat with chopsticks. The service was strange in that I... View all feedback.
Absolutely amazing sushi and a new experience! so glad that we found this piece of jewellery on holiday and will definitely be back when we come back to L.A!
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of sushi in the sushi box. the sushi rolls were really good and the sashimi tasted fresh. the edamame that came with the order could use more seasonal, but I was really happy to see all the contingent that came with the box. Overall, I would recommend to visit sugarfish, they will not regret it.
I was excited to try after reading that the owner of the group is a Michelin star cook. During the start of the meal, the waiter prahled that she was only Nigiri Sashimi in traditional Japanese style. Unfortunately, compare it with any of my experiences eating at sushi places in Japan (also chain restaurants such as Sushi Zanmai, it does not hold a candle. It is not even good compared to other chains sushi places in Asia such as Genki Sushi and Itacho Sushi. My wife and I were so disappointed. The Otoro had no fat, it felt like cheap tuna cuts. The seaweed felt and tasted just like the pre-packed seaweed you buy from any Asian food. But the worst was the quality of rice. It wasn't a real sushi rice. It was too dry, and the sushi would not hold together well and gave all dishes a rough, inescapable texture. In addition to the lack of lust food, I must point out that the ambience was so dark, the server could not even see if our plates had food in them or not. A waitress swallowed like a falcon and took my tuna-sashimi court when there were pieces of tuna in it. I couldn't tell anything she did so fast. I'm sure she meant good, but it was such a waste when you looked at the price. Also the tables are so clogged side by side, you feel that you have zero privacy. The greeting has set us next to someone who certainly had Covid. The lady next to my wife wore a mask throughout the meal, shoved sushi in her mouth under her mask while attaching a literal pulse oximeter to her finger. We felt worried all the time. Overall, I think this place was on people who? ve was never in Japan who did not know how real sushi should be. It is certainly not authentic traditional (tuna sashimi swimming in ponzu sauce? and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who knows better. I may mean that by saying that, but for me it is the honest truth. It's a money making chain business with not much art for it. I mean, even my cold green tea was just powdered Matcha out of a pack. My wife is hot green tea from a lipton bag. A highlight is that the servers are generally nice and polite. You look like a bunch of hardworking young people doing their best. I wish I could say better about the restaurant and food quality for them.
I heard a lot about it, but honestly, it was another experience. Sushi in this place is on another level. Fresh cut fish? (not frozen) just melts in the mouth. Especially I can't get enough of the Eel. Very recommended Sugarfish. And the staff was so coordinated. There are only 3 servers, but they treat all tables so well. So satisfied with service.
Good food. My girls loved the sushi! Japanese style very good fish on warm rice. They have some fixed price menu?s and they loved everything. They even allowed a couple of substitutions. Fatty Toro was a big hit. I?m a roll person and they don?t have a big selection. But the crab roll and yellow tail rolls were excellent. The Nigori was very good. Very nice staff and good location across from Gower Studio and Gower Gulch
