Chef John Caluda is a perfectionist. According to a well-known Chef in NOLA, “John is the best Pastry Chef in New Orleans”. I know this to be true because he taught me how to really cook--I was his Sous Chef in 1985. Trust me--do yourself a favor save time, money, stress, whatever and call Cottage Catering Caluda's King Cakes FIRST. They will put perfectionism to work for you! View all feedback.
What Tim G doesn't like about Caluda's Cottage Catering Bakery:
Definitely not worth the top dollar paid for some of the specialty jazz fest foods we ordered this year. Portions are smaller, prices are up, and having to drive all the way out to harahan is probably a no-go for most people. View all feedback.
Love their King Cake's they are all great. Pastries are good as well.

So to start off, I personally have never had food from this place but my wife and mother have. No one at their jobs enjoys the food when Cottage Catering supplies. And to top it off, they claim to offer gluten free meals but lack the common sense to actually deliver a gluten free meal. My wife has a severe gluten intolerance and has asked for a gluten free meal from them and all 3 times she has gotten sick. Never again will my family eat ANYTHING prepared by Cottage Catering.
The best kind cake!! That's all that needs to be said.
I'm just a poor yankee but I'd rather have Caluda's king cake than Manny Randazos or Dong Phoung. My favorite is Strawberry Cream cheese. Although I want to try the Bavarian Cream next.
