Gumbo Ya Ya makes the best gumbo and shrimp and grits we have ever tasted, and that includes what we have eaten in Louisiana. Sorry Louisiana! The roux that made up the gumbo was so intensely flavored it felt like we were eating a mole at times. Was craving gumbo and wanted to give this place a shot. Their serving size to price point is kind of skimpy. A tiny serving of their sides is so expensive and the gumbo? Is so watered down and runny? Usually gumbo has a bit of thickness. It really just tasted like soup? Maybe level above the Campbell stuff. The sausage she uses is good, but I wish the portions were bigger.
