local products, homemade pasta and bread, excellent wine of the house. among the appetizers we tasted the mixture and especially the excellent focaccia and lard. a couple of remarkable seconds choked with purée and wild boar with polenta. excellent also the chestnut. quick service, friendly staff, nice environment, great quiet location but very close to the center. "Whilst staying in Lucca we tried a few gelato's but once we found this one there was no comparison anywhere in Lucca and possibly all of Italy, which really means the world as this is the home of the gelato. The staff are superb and very helpful. The quality of the ice cream is phenomenal. And the cakes well have a look at the photos. If in Lucca of an evening take a stroll through S. Elisa gate to this gelato you will not be dissappointed. Be prepared to queue with the locals for a few minutes as this is a popular shop!!"
