"At first , we were astonished , no beer ! Only Guiness , but then the two men offered a very fine meal ! We four of us take the menue, and the. Other persons of us take pasta , main course and dessert ! Realy everthing was very delicious and extraordinary , for example the crispy lassagneta and the vegetarian ravioli ! All the pasta are selfmade ! It was a very fine meal and we enjoy the evening ! Thank you very much !"

"Terrible long wait for the food. Had 3 very hungry children but a company of grown Italian men got their food incredibly fast. I kinda lost it at the waiter but he only complained that we took so long with the antipasto, which we finished in 10 minutes and then stood for 45 minutes at our table. No apology and our kids were shocked at the waiter’s behavior."

"We were a family of 9, 6 adults, a 12 year old, 4 year old and 12 month old. The service, food and restaurant itself were all excellent. The waiter was very friendly, spoke relatively good English and advised on dishes etc. We received a small glass of Prosecco to start courtesy of the restaurant. A variety of food dishes were picked by the group and no one was disappointed. My 12 year old got the authentic burgher (no roll) and the meat was to die for. I had truffle pasta to start which was delicious and the Norwegian cod. Thoroughly recommend as a restaurant to visit if you are in the area. This is outside the walls of the city."

"This used to be of our favourite restaurant in the beautiful walled city of Lucca but sadly no longer is due to change of management and revamp of the menu. Now instead of focusing on local Tuscan food and lore it tries to be a trendy cutting edge food haven. The food is good but strange such as crab spaghetti or shrimp and pears. The courses are tiny and the prices expensive. The service is professional but each dish explained in deep culinary detail. Finally this establishment would be better suited for a hipster crowd in Milan, New York or South Beach, Florida"

"We ate here on two consecutive nights. Located just off the main shopping thoroughfare, which in itself is a bonus as it is relatively quiet, especially when comparing it to any of the restaurants located in the beautiful butt ever so touristy Anfiteatro Romano. The food is typical of the region, and is superbly cooked. There was several specials available such as freshly fried porcini, along with several dishes you’d expect; boar ragù, fried courgette flowers. The duck is up there with the best I’ve ever had. This was probably the best food we ate in Lucca, everything was delicious."

"Le Bonta was certainly a gelateria that made quite an impression on our first night outside the walls of Lucca. We had stopped nearby to have pizzas based on TA's review and coincidentally was near this ice cream parlour as well. I was shocked as I sat in the car waiting for my family to purchase the gelato seeing the size of two scoops on a scone for only €2. We had two scones that day with a variety of flavours and we knew, we had to come back for it. Really worth trying out if you are ever around Lucca!"
