"Whilst staying in Lucca we tried a few gelato's but once we found this one there was no comparison anywhere in Lucca and possibly all of Italy, which really means the world as this is the home of the gelato. The staff are superb and very helpful. The quality of the ice cream is phenomenal. And the cakes well have a look at the photos. If in Lucca of an evening take a stroll through S. Elisa gate to this gelato you will not be dissappointed. Be prepared to queue with the locals for a few minutes as this is a popular shop!!"

"Down an alleyway off the Piazza Anfiteatro (right where Rick always says to look), we stumbled on this absolute gem of a restaurant. Mostly outdoor seating, Mamma is in the kitchen, and everything that comes out of it is delicious. We started with the fried zucchini and its flowers, the lightest tempura treatment lending crunch to every bite. The seasonal porcini mushrooms were presented the same way. Pastas all looked good but we went right for the meat: a duck breast perfectly pink inside with a pile of gently caramelized onions that brought out the sweetness; and a fabulous steak, tender and juicy rare, topped with a generous portion of shredded truffles, coarse salt, and some mystery ingredient that took it to another level. We chose a local wine by Lippo that was great with everything as well as being quite inexpensive. If you’re in Lucca, don’t miss this place—BEST meal of our trip!"

"At first , we were astonished , no beer ! Only Guiness , but then the two men offered a very fine meal ! We four of us take the menue, and the. Other persons of us take pasta , main course and dessert ! Realy everthing was very delicious and extraordinary , for example the crispy lassagneta and the vegetarian ravioli ! All the pasta are selfmade ! It was a very fine meal and we enjoy the evening ! Thank you very much !"
