"We visited for the first time in December and loved this place and have been raving about it ever since to all our friends. We came back for Sunday lunch with our family and the food was great again but the service wasn’t. We were...upstairs, we waited a long time for everything, drinks, food and ended up having to pay on the way out rather than wait any longer. We only had vegetable serving dish between which was just about ok but pretty stingy. We did ask but we’re told the dish was deep. The biggest issue we had was that my sons chicken had a half inch bone in it, admittedly he’s a bit fussy but it put him off his food, but at least he didn’t choke. When I let the waitress know she told me ‘that’s how we serve our chicken breast’. Given how nice the food was I can’t believe she was speaking on behalf of the chef and rather than apologising she was dismissive to the point of rude. Such a shame as the younger staff were much more polite. I’ve gone from this being my new favourite place to somewhere I’ll never go back to."

"The pub itself is very attractive. the winter garden it area less so. we came to the end of a busy lunch service and it showed. the workers, while very pleasant, clearly missing guidance and the whole visit was very disappointing, instead of the joy we were expecting. extremely limited menu. only fish and a burger available at 2 o'clock on Sunday. it was pointed out that the booking of a later table made it inevitable that the Sunday roast option would be sold out. we complained bitterly because there were no suitable alternatives and the waitress saved the day by referring to the kitchen to see if anything else could be offered that contains meat and vegetables. the food and the wine were very good in that. However, the overall experience was rather shocking for a device rated so high. I would neither come back nor recommend and the 3/5 evaluation is based exclusively on the quality of food and the willingness of the staff."

"The swan inn, wilton a peaceful retreat. service, food, service ambiente really good. I couldn't find a better place to have a Sunday dinner when they tried. highly recommended. but you have to book in front of you. great love to detail by the friendly staff. good selection of beer and food, reasonable price. many gluten-free options as standard. G/f brot with olive oil starter was very good as was drawn on g/f rolls. sad, had no place for pud. if I lived closer, it would be a very regular attempt"

"Lovely evening celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. We sat outside with a drink in a pleasant seating area with very nice views whilst browsing the menu. Needless to say our choices of starters, mains and dessert were absolutely delicious and so beautifully presented. We will definitely be going again!"
