Why can only be awarded 5 stars? A Turkish restaurant, I was there with two dear older friends, who have had experience with Turkish eating culture for the first time (Döner is not Turkish). This may also be due to the fact that I am not really a sympathizer of Erdogan, but that does not change the fact that many compatriots are trying to honestly and I hope authentically to present a food culture from home or home t... Get your tired self from the tourist places in the city center near the Rathouse, go 2 blocks towards Politzei Train Station and you are here. Delicious kebabs, very pleasant service, regional beer. Excellent.
Childish and attentive staff. You can also speak English. The food is excellent, I will miss this place so much!
A perfect fine dining Turkish restaurant. A little bit expensive but still affordable. A new experience.
Great Turkish cuisine, family-run restaurant, very friendly staff, we have been here for years when we are in Lübeck and are always very satisfied. Go.
In addition to the Merhaba I mentioned here, the city centre of Lübeck with the Ali Baba will find another starting point for oriental cuisine, which can also be understood as a classic evening restaurant and not as a snack. Ironically, it is only a stone's throw away from Merhaba, also in the neighborhood of the Marienkirche. Since the Ali Baba offer also includes a lunch, I returned here in April 2018. The restaurant draws attention from the outside through its deep red color of the otherwise white house. A red awning gives a shadow to the small outdoor areas on the walkway in summer. The interior architecture, which shows itself after passing through the curtain built in as a windfall, seems to be taken over by a classic German restaurant. A white wall color is combined with dark wood tones, with the guest room being distributed around a central slender/bar. Some oriental flair is with small ornaments and pictures, as well as the typical silver tablets on the tables. A beautiful atmosphere where I might have wanted a little more substance to live. The woman who works at this noon can be highlighted neither with great negative, but also without extraordinary praise. The restaurant was empty at my time of visit, so that she is busy with her tablet in inevitable idling. That wouldn't be a problem if she hadn't seen any videos with sound. That bite with the otherwise pleasant background music in the restaurant, should be emphasized that the volume was not overbordening and therefore unbearable. Of course, this should not happen for a complete score. Otherwise she was definitely friendly, but at the same time not particularly warm or communicative. Although the lunch offer was available during my visit, I was interested in the “Bezelye Tava” dish from the regular card, which was of course still served. It is a pea pan from the oven with onions, carrots, mushrooms, beans, bulgur and garlic yoghurt. “Bezelye Tava”: pea pan from the oven with onions, carrots, mushrooms, beans, wort and garlic yogurt. In addition, some bread was added, which was nicely warm, simple and therefore remarkably fresh. For 9.9€ a sufficient part was served, which was still wonderfully hot. The classic, natural and cool yoghurt sauce gave the appropriate temperature contrast. The Bulgur had the desired bulk consistency and also the vegetables were thoroughly cooked. All in all, a handmade, perfectly prepared food that only missed the last peat in the sense of an expected oriental spices, as all the ingredients were completely natural. So it was delicious, but no lasting pleasure. The short conclusion of this lunch in the Ali Baba would therefore be so loud for me that the price-performance ratio is quite true, but one should not compete at the same time with the expectation of a culinary and atmospheric Orient fireworks here.
